Greg Todd Rally Preview

Well the Greg Todd Rally is racing towards us at an alarming rate. June 10th is the date, and we are all ready to go. The car has been serviced and has new tyres on the front, lets' hope the driver and co-driver are as ready!! It is going to be our first major rally, and Sam and I are really looking forward to it.

Saturday is Scrutineering, then Recce, where we will be going through the forest, doing our pacenotes.This will be a lot of fun, and enable us to drive the stages with alot more confidence knowing what is around the corner.

Event Details

The event is based on 3 stages in the Maramarua Forest, each stage is done 4 times, so as we go through we will be getting faster and faster, see below for more details

Venue: All twelve special stages are gravel forestry roads within the confines of the Carter Holt Harvey Maramarua Forest . Rally Headquarters, Start, Finish and Service Park will be at the Mercer Country Shop, Great South Road, Mercer.

Length: The Rally comprises of 96 kilometres of Special Stage distance within a total distance of 203 kilometres.

First Car Starts: 0830 hours on Sunday 10 June 2001 at Mercer Country Shop.
First Car Finishes: Approximately 1500 hours at the final control at Mercer Country Shop.

Results: Provisional Results will be posted at Rally HQ, at 1800 hours on Sunday 10 June 2001.
Prizegiving: The Prizegriving will be held at Muddy Waters Irish Pub, Mercer at approximately 1830 hours on Sunday 10 June 2001

If you wish to spectate, then the best option is to be at the Mercer Country Shop, which is on State Highway One, before the first car leaves @ 0830hrs. You will then be able to pick up directions to the stages and start times.
