GVI Rally Waitomo

The start of the season saw the team head to Te Kuiti for our first event of the year, GVI Rally Waitomo.

The event was run in wet, cold damp conditions and we were not really prepared for them.

Running old 205 Pirelli's and new suspension, the car wasn't set up for the weather and the road very well, with pronounced oversteer exciting the corners it led to one or two hairy moments.

We pushed on during the day took it cautiously, and finished the second to last stage in 41st place overall.

The last stage was in near darkness, so we had bolted on our light pod. Oe starting the stage we discovered that the lights were not set up (something I had forgotten to do) and were pointing sky-ward. With only one headlight working, we limped out way through the stage to loose a lot of time and finish the event in 41sto/a/
