Genuine Vehicle Imports Rally of Waikato - Preview

This weekend we take to the roads around Te Kuiti for Round 6 of the Winger Subaru Top Half Series It is 168km's of fast tarmac stages, with the added addition of 3 night stages on Friday night (43km), then another 11 stages( 128km) on Saturday, it promises to be a fun event.

We are seeded at 27th, our best yet seeding, and are hopeful of a top 30 placing. Co-driving duties on this event will be be left to Sara Warrington, stepping in at the last minute as my usual codriver Sandy has had to stand down due to family commitments.

We managed to do a lot of damage to our last engine at the Rally of the North so this event will mark the debut of our new engine. A big thanks to Alex Gilmour at Gilmour Motoring Services for the rebuild, and assistance in getting it running for this event. The engine itself was only finally ready to run on Monday night after the engine management computer decided to throw a wobbly, so it will be a rush to finish off the car before the event. I can't wait to get out and give it a thrash...
