The Dust Settles - End of Season

As another season draws to a close, and it is now time to put the car away and enjoy summer. At the beginning of the season, our aim was a 100% finish rate for the Rally's we entered. We achieved this with:

• 68th in the Greg Todd Memorial Rally
• 31st Rally of the North
• 30th Rotorua Rally
• 30th Bay Rally

We nearly got ourselves into the top twenty at the Bay Rally, but for an excursion into a bank. The Pacenotes and the roads in the Far North Rally were great, and Sam and I learnt so much on that rally, and can't wait to use them again next year. The rallyspints we competed in are able to be forgotten, what with electrical problems, blown engines, and other annoying problems, we seemed to have luck on our side, as they never really transferred to the Regional Rallies.

Over the break the car will be lightened. We will be removing a lot of the dead weight in the car, which mainly is in the interior. I have also to get a new radiator, and look at getting some more protection under the car, as it is getting a little thin in the floor. We need some new gravel tyres, and as the first two rallies of next year are on tarmac, we need some tarmac slicks also.

The next and last event for us is the Super Stage Sprint on the 4th November. This is run on the track behind the Rainbows End Adventure Park. It will start at about 10am, and is great for a bit of entertainment as there are two cars on the circuit at once, and it is all visible. So if you want to see some great close racing, then come on out and see what Rallying is all about.
